Goa Trip 2018

by - July 09, 2018

Goa is Hawaii🌴for us Indians specially Mumbaikars as it's very close to us. It always happen with us we try to make plans for visiting Goa with friends and end up not able to execute it. It happens with me and I always wanted to go there with my very close friends!!! This is the 4th time I visited Goa and I always find it as happening as it was my 1st time. It's a place you'll never say NO to!!😎

This time I decided not only to stick to North Goa but also South Goa. And trust I am too glad to make this choice. South Goa is phenomenon!! That place is calm, relaxing, full of Russians, and nowhere you'll feel like you're in India as it's so beautiful! I'll describe about it in this article below. Keep reading...

Day 1:  It's very logical that you stay in low cost apartments or rooms when you know you gonna spend your whole day and probably night outside exploring places in Goa, instead of spending in resorts where you're paying more for using their properties and amenities and you aren't able to do it.
So I searched for apartments at Candolim, as it's in the heart of North Goa and all the places are easily accessible from there. Trust me!!! Amazing place to stay at. Reasons? Except from easy access to all beaches and other spots, Candolim Beach is beautiful and a must visit one, environment in day and night is amazing, full of foreigners, calm place, amazing French, Indian, International restaurants around. So I recommend you to find stay nearby Candolim Beach from where Candolim and Sinquerim Beaches are walking distance away.

I recommend you to experience sports at Sinquerim or Candolim Beach instead of Baga or Calangute Beaches as those are too crowded, charges are high, and you won't experience as good as in less crowded places.

After tiring whole day, we were all set for the evening party!! So we decided why not go to LPK Waterfront (the most famous club in North Goa).

We already took bikes on hire (Rs. 300 rent per day per bike + refundable deposit) from a guy nearby Candolim Beach (Note: Please check the whole bike before agreeing for it to avoid from getting scammed such as places of all dents already on the bike, ask for helmet, lights, breaks, etc. better to take pics of whole bike from all sides)

We headed towards LPK Waterfront and entered with couple entry Rs. 3,000 (stag is costly).

It was fun though I found the place is little hyped. They provide you free drinks but very limited menu say hardly 5 types of drink, for rest you need to pay. Guys and Girls there were just trying to contact each other and you know what happens next. Anyways I enjoyed with my group, we danced like mad, laughing, enjoying scenic night sea view, danced and danced long hours.
Returned midnight to our apartments.

Day - 2: So our Day 2 is in North Goa and we decided to explore public spots which are famous and worth visiting.

Basilica of Bom Jesus Church

I just fell in love with of look of these churches and calmness around. It was really hard to believe that it's in India. The European look of these churches are breathe-taking!

St. Francis Xavier Church

One of the known churches, St. Francis Xavier's body is preserved in the chest (refer chest picture) and it's shrinks very minimal, taken out once in 10 years for preservation procedure. It's something phenomenon I have ever seen.

Dona Paula

Dona Paula is a lover's point in memory of Dona-Paula who died in the sea saving another amongst one. There's a statue of them at the point. It's a scenic view at the edge.

For the evening we  decided to go to Deltin Royale Casino. This was my first experience to any casino. They charge around Rs. 3,000 (ladies) and Rs. 4,000 (Guys) in seasonal period with Rs. 2,000 chips to play. I won Rs/ 1,000 Yayyy!!! There are shows starts from 8 PM at the terrace and on the other floors as well. Food and drinks are unlimited with limited options though. The environment simply amazing and good to experience once in your life.

Day - 3: As Sinquerim Beach was nearby to our apartment, I decided to enjoy morning there. So I took my bike alone (as my friends were still dreaming of Casino), visited the beach and a fort adjacent to it. I had visited this beach in my last visit and became a fan of its scenic and breathe-taking view, I had to visit it this time.

Though I was little disappointed this time as when I visited earlier, the sea water at the shore was crystal clear and this time, I could it's not really maintained. But anyways I loved that I visited and enjoyed the bath there.

We got fresh and decided to head towards other beaches in the North, Baga, Calangute, Anjuna, Vagator beaches, Chapora Fort. I searched a famous restaurant at Baga Beach is Brittos.. and had our lunch there! The ambiance is amazing it's right on the beach. It's enjoyable.

We stayed at Baga Beach and decided to enjoy nightlife at it as I had nightlife at Baga is simply awesome and I had witnessed it! A must place to enjoy later evening or whole night.

Day - 4: We headed towards South Goa for our thrill to continue and increase even further. So we decided to include in our bucket list just Palolem Beach and Agonda Beach and agreed not to cover any other areas around as the place is preferred more to relax and chill that's what we wanted in the end of our trip. Just to avoid rush and goal just to cover as many areas as possible.

Trust me I fell in loveeeee with Palolem Beach!! So relaxing, calm and beautiful, less crowded 💗

There and then I concluded that whenever next time I visit Goa, South Goa has to be the place!! Guys seriously it's worth staying!! The place is full of Russians, good environment around, simply beautiful!

I always wanted to do kayaking and I deadly wanted to do in my this trip, I searched a lot while planning for the trip to experience this sport in North Goa. I found lot of packages at Rs. 3,500 upto Rs. 5000. Due to shortage of time, we couldn't do it. But when we saw kayaks at Palolem Beach, I curiously asked the owner and he said only Rs. 400 per hour per kayak!!!! I mean seriously????? 😲
It took almost 3 hours for me to convince my friends for it as it was completely us to ride kayak without any trainer and none of us had experience it before in a deep sea. But I had made up my mind that whatever happens, I want to experience it this time itself (actually also I noticed the water is stilt and not much wavy which won't flip our kayak). Finally they said yes let's try and one more experience added to my bucket list!

Somebody told us to also visit few islands nearby for which ferry departs from Palolem Beach. We a took an hour ride which included boat ride, dolphin view and 2 islands - butterfly and honeymoon islands. The boat ride was amazing, we also spotted few dolphins and islands were too beautiful. Worth opting it! Here are some pictures.

We experienced wonderful candle light good friends dinner on the beach, enjoying the feel, cold breeze, live bands, group of Russians enjoying and celebrating, singing songs. The overall experience was simply amazing.

Day -5: This was last day and we had to depart from such a beautiful place with such beautiful memories, amazing experience, fun and lot of love from Goens!.While returning back in our car from South to North Goa as we had to return the car and move towards Dabolim Airport, we decided to halt at Agonda Beach and found it quite Beautiful, Calm, Beautiful, Relaxing 💖

Before moving towards Dabolim Airport, we decided to have dinner at one of the famous restaurant in South Goa, Martin's Corner. This place is particularly famous for non-vegetarians and being a vegetarian we could order soups, snacks, desserts.

This was my 4th trip to Goa and every time with different set of people. This time it was with my very close ones and I must say I am glad whatever we planned, discovered, explored and enjoyed all places and moments. I soooooo happy that we are back with wonderful memories!! 💖💖💖😃
